Apple’s App Stores couldn’t install new apps during a brief outage

Apple has resolved an issue preventing users on the iPhone, iPad, and Mac from downloading apps from the App Store.

When users pressed the “Get” button to install an app during the outage, the icon swirled briefly to indicate that it was loading. However, it then would revert to “Get,” leaving users unable to install the app they wanted. The install button seems to be working normally now.

Reports of App Store issues started to mount on social media shortly after the outage began at around 11AM ET. Several of us here at The Verge, including in the US and Europe, found that we weren’t able to download apps, either.
