Tesla recalls over 27,000 Cybertrucks over laggy reverse cameras

Tesla issued a recall notice for the Cybertruck due to faulty software causing a slow-to-display rear camera feed. It’s the fifth recall for the polarizing electric truck since Tesla started customer deliveries last November. Other recalls have involved faulty wipers, loose trim, and jammed accelerator pedals.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s report, the recall applies to over 27,000 Cybertrucks “manufactured between November 13th, 2023 and September 14th, 2024,” which applies to essentially every Cybertruck ever made.

Tesla Cybertrucks running version 2024.32.5.2 or later could have a condition where the reverse camera feed “may appear blank for up to 6 to 8 seconds” if the customer tries to back up…
